After reeling in former Wild RW Marian Gaborik last week to a five-year, $37.5 million contract, the Rangers added some more offensive firepower by inking Ales Kotalik to a three year, $9 million deal.
If your asking who that is, Kotalik split last season between the Buffalo Sabres and Edmonton Oilers, and put up some solid offensive numbers with 20 goals and 23 assists.
The Blueshirts are hoping he can fill the void left behind when Markus Nasland retired after last season. Kotalik has scored 20 or more goals the last four seasons, and he holds the NHL all-time record for shootout winners, so get ready for some shootout drama next season!
