Wild win for the Mets and Oliver Perez

The Mets never make it look easy. Oliver Perez (2-2) won his first start since April 15th, as the Mets beat the Dodgers tonight 5-4, and stoped their four game losing streak.

Perez was well, Oli. He walked seven betters over his five innings of work. Enigma really is the perfect word to describe him. He sometimes look like he has Johan Santana's stuff, but is more often than not wild and can make Joba Chamberlain look like an innings eater.

The Mets finally got some production from the bottom of their order. The 6-8 hitters, Reed, Schneider, and Castillo, accounted for three of the Mets five runs tonight. The 2-1 lead the Mets took in the third inning was their first lead since last Thursday's game in Pittsburgh. Yikes.

The Mets are now 40-43, and because of the Phillies walk of win tonight, are still 4 1/2 games out of the NL East.
